The Lost Children

This book was about Ida Fargus and Josephine. Josephine lives with her father in a land where everybody wears gloves. One day she meets a mysterious boy named Fargus. He disappears and Josephine tries to follow him. He turns out to have gone through a Porthole into a different land. The other land (named Glum) is ruled by a mysterious villain called the master. In glum all the children except a few have been taken by the master. Accompanied by Fargus's friend, Ida, Josephine embarks on a long journey to free all the children of Glum. They encounter many enemies such as the brothers. There were some sad parts but I still thought the book was good.

The Lost Hero

This book is about 3 half bloods name Leo, Piper, Jason. Half bloods are people that are children of a mortal and a God. Piper, Jason and Leo have to go on a quest to save Harrah the queen of the gods. But mythological monsters chase them. This book mixes modern life with ancient Greek mythology. While on their quest they ride a bronze Dragon called Festus. The book first starts out when Jason wakes up on a bus with no idea where he is. I like this book because it mixes modern life with ancient Greek mythology. I'd also like to mention that this book is part of a series, The heroes of Olympus.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

The book is about Harry. He is famous before he can walk because he survived Lord Voldemort. Harry is a wizard but he grows up in a normal family, muggles. At first he does not know he's a wizard, but when he gets a letter from Hogworts (a wizard school) he has to go. On the train he meets two other students, Ron and Hermione, ( they soon become his friends). When they get to Hogworts they find out about the Sorcerers Stone. Someone seems to be trying to steal it. After that they try to save the Sorcerers Stone which causes them to get into a lot of mischief. Though they aren't being mischivious on purpose, they do break some rules. I like how it coincides with the normal world. I thought it was a great book!

Framed

The book is about Griffin and his friends. Griffin has been framed, but by who? He and his friends try to solve the mystery but get Griffin into more trouble. In the end they find who did it but it's not what they expected. It's a good book and has a lot of funny parts. I enjoy the fact that his Dad is an inventor too!

Even though the cove has a dog on it, Griffin is not a dog. This is also part of a series. This is not the first book in the series, and there is an order. Read them: Swindle, Zoobreak, Framed, Showoff, Hideout, Jackpot.

Flora & Ulysses The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo

The book is about a girl named Flora and a squirrel, but no ordinary squirrel. This squirrel is a super hero or something. The squirrel can type poetry and fly. He only communicates by writing poems. Add he flies like Superman, but without a cape. The book is mostly about the adventures of Flora and the squirrel. It's very funny. I think it's different because of the way it's written. There are comics woven into the story. I thought it was a little boring because there isn't a lot of action and excitement.
