Nick and Tesla's Solar-Powered Showdown

This book is about two kids named Nick and Tesla. They solve a mystery with a bunch of cool gadgets that you can build yourself. The book has some science experiments that you might like.
One of the experiments is a solar powered frankfurter cooker. I made it and it was exciting so you will probably like it too. This book is apart of a series of mysteries (they all have experiments).

Nick, Tesla, their friends and Uncle get captured by a bunch of old ladies that are crazy good at karate. A man named "Bob" is trying to kidnap their parents while making a gun that can cook people on Earth and in outer space. My favorite part was when Nike and Tesla in the beginning are fighting about whether or not they should click on something on a computer, because they go back and forth like cats and dogs. I think you will enjoy this book because it is a mystery and it is an awesome book. I learned science while have a lot of fun.

The Bobbsey Twins and The Mystery Of The Deep Blue Sea

The Bobbsey Twins are a series. There are two boys and two girls. Bert Bobbsey and Nan Bobbsey are the oldest twins, Freddie Bobbsey and Flossie Bobbsey are the youngest twins. The book is about how the Bobbsey twins solve a  mystery where there are two men that steal and break a whole bunch of stuff on an island.  This all started was when Bert got a pen pal in school. The twins are all looking for the thieves and they are also looking for pirate treasure.  To get to that island they have to go on a big ship called the Jamaica Queen. My favorite part was when they found the thieves, that was where all the action was. I don't have a part of the book
that I don't like. Do you think that they will solve the mystery? To find out read the book!

Maryellen Taking Off, American Girl

There was a little girl named Maryellen about to turn ten. Back then in 1945 they did not have birthdays  like we have now. She wants it to be something where her friends get dressed like a famous person. But she changes her mind and wants to collect money to save people from polio. Polio is a very bad disease and you can die from it. Meanwhile her sister Joan is planning to get married to her boyfriend Jerry.
But on her birthday something goes wrong. In the summer Maryellen and her siblings go  on a camping trip. One night everyone goes to see fireworks except Maryellen and Joan. They stay home to watch their family dog, Scooter. Something goes terribly wrong and Joan hurts her ankle. At the end Joan and Jerry get married.
Maryellen collects money by doing a show on how you should get your shot and why.  Maryellen's teacher one day said that there was a science club so Maryellen wanted to try it.

I would recommend it. Because you can learn about the past. And Maryellen might be like you.

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda

The book is about a kid in 6th grade that made an origami yoda. But this is no ordinary origami yoda, this one gives you advice. So all his friends try to find out if it gives good advice. I liked the book because it had comics all over the sides of the pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes origami and Star Wars. I would also like to say that this book is in a series.

I Survived Hurricane Katrina 2005

The main character was Barry, but Cruz joined in halfway. The book was about Barry and his family. Hurricane Katrina is heading towards New Orleans. They tried to get out of the city but Barry's little sister got sick in the car and they have to go back to their house. Hurricane Katrina hits, the family goes to the roof and holds on tight to the shingles.  Barry falls off and somehow survives. The story gives you an idea of what it is like to lose things that you love and to be rescued from a hurricane.
