Even though the cove has a dog on it, Griffin is not a dog. This is also part of a series. This is not the first book in the series, and there is an order. Read them: Swindle, Zoobreak, Framed, Showoff, Hideout, Jackpot.

Framed
The book is about Griffin and his friends. Griffin has been framed, but by who? He and his friends try to solve the mystery but get Griffin into more trouble. In the end they find who did it but it's not what they expected. It's a good book and has a lot of funny parts. I enjoy the fact that his Dad is an inventor too!

Flora & Ulysses The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo
The book is about a girl named Flora and a squirrel, but no ordinary squirrel. This squirrel is a super hero or something. The squirrel can type poetry and fly. He only communicates by writing poems. Add he flies like Superman, but without a cape. The book is mostly about the adventures of Flora and the squirrel. It's very funny. I think it's different because of the way it's written. There are comics woven into the story. I thought it was a little boring because there isn't a lot of action and excitement.

Jake and Lily
The book is about how Jake goes off to play with a gang of boys. Jake and Lily are twins. Lily can't live without Jake because they have a special connection between them. For example if Lily was at a friend's house and randomly yelled "stuck", it could mean that Jake could be stuck in their back yard! They call their special connection "goombla". In the end Jake and Lily both meet new best friends. Some of the parts are sad and funny. At one point in the story Jake is being tricked into being a bully and calling people names that are different, I found this sad. But it is funny when Jake and Lily are blowing out their candles on their sixth birthday cake and Lily burps. I like how the chapters flip back and forth between two people. This book won the MCBA award.

The Mark of Athena
In the book seven half bloods go on a quest to save Rome from two giants and follow the Mark of Athena. The Mark of Athena is a quest that children of Athena take to get back a giant statue of Athena that was stollen. There are three challenges to overcome. Most children of Athena fail because they hate spiders and a giant one is guarding the statue. They travel in a giant war ship. They also fight giants that are trying to take over the world! I like the book because there were so many characters.

The Son of Neptune
I think the book was good, but you may not like it because Percy has no memory. In the book Percy finds another camp. It is a Roman camp. Percy goes on a quest with two friends to defeat a giant that is rising and to get the camp's eagle back. The camp protects the eagle with their lives because it has special powers. The wolf, Laputa, took Percy's memory because she did not want Percy to remember the Greek's camp, she wanted Percy to help join the camps.

The Boston Massacre
I think the book teaches you a lot about the Boston Massacre. You can choose to be a apprentice, a British soldier or John Hancock's maid. It allows you to experience life under Britain's rule in 1770. This book helps you understand what leads up to the Revolutionary War. I like the book because you can choose what to do, but it doesn't always have the choices you want. This series of Choose Your Own Adventure books gives you a perspective of both sides of history.

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes
The book was about a blind, orphaned boy, who was an heir to the thrown, and how he became a thief to become a King. Peter had to find the lost kingdom in the book and needed to steal a magical box to embark on his journey. Some of the parts were sad but the book was very good. The book takes place in a magical world with many oceans. The boy has a companion on his whole journey, who is a knight. He meets him in the Troublesome Lake and gets a surprise. I couldn't put it down because the adventure was quickly changing. I also really liked the book because his special ability was something other than an item you can hold, it was something that was part of his body and helped his disability.
