I read an article in the Week for Kids and it is about a ball court that was uncovered. People used to play a mix of basket ball and soccer. And it is still played in Mexico today. The sport is called ulama. The people who play it wear special clothes. Mayan and Aztec cultures let their king show how strong they are. I wish the writer told me the rules of the game and how to play. Scientist might not of know how to play but the scientists might be able to ask the cultures how to play the game now.

Recipe for Adventure
This series I am reading is about two kids named Alfie and Emilia who have an aunt named Zia. Their aunt cooks magical recipes from different cities around the world like Paris, Hong Kong or Naples. However she even wrote about Philadelphia! They go to the different countries to have an experience and to see what it is like. And they have to tell a lie to the people there because if the people know what happened, they get into really big trouble. In Paris they almost got caught with saying their phone number wrong. The part of the book that really got me hooked is that the author gives a recipe or two recipes on how to make food at the end. And the food has to be from that country they go to. I have read Paris, Philadelphia, Naples and Hong Kong.

Tails from History: A Sea Otter to the Rescue
In 2001, a new sea otter came to an aquarium in California. Toola is the sea otter. She liked to make the staff challenge her in the water. A boy heard about Toola. His dad was a lawmaker. Toola is only 5 or 6 years old. The staff put a tag on Toola. Toola is nice to her pup. Toola showed her pup how to wash himself. Toola didn't know that she was the most important sea otter. The scientists wanted to learn more about Toola! Would Toola act like a mom to her pup? Yes, she did. I liked this book.

Molly Saves the Day : American Girl Doll
I think that Molly is very brave. When Molly thought up a plan to dump bugs on Linda. It was a great
idea! Linda sat there pulling out the bugs in her hair! Molly tagged everyone. They ran when she
tagged them! Everyone was at the boat house. Dorrinda was not there.
Everyone was talking. "I think that Molly should be the leader." someone said. "Yes." said Linda. "She should.
Molly felt a little joy! She stood in front of everyone. She explained the plan. We should....Hmmm... We
Can make a bridge out of boats! Said Molly. That's a great idea! They ran to the boats. But...they did something different. They went to the back and snuck-up on them. Molly took the flag and ran down the hill. The blue team had two red team players in the their boats. Molly was holding the flag high. When they went to the hall there was ice-cream. Linda was talking to one of the counsellors when she Said, "Poison point." She blew her bugle. She yelled, "Everyone who went to Poison point go to the nurse now!" 'Molly joined the sad parade. The winners have to go to the nurse. The losers
get to stay.
